Nrupatunga school was founded by Sri BG Chimmaligi in 1928 with just 5 students. Later, with strong support from then prominent & eminent Kannadigas Sri G Ramachar, Sri Janardhan Rao Desai, Sri Krishnachar Joshi, Dr GS Melkote & few others has now grown and expanded to Pre-Primary School, High School, Junior College, Degree & PG College having separate buildings, with more than 1,00,000 proud alumni till date.

The Institution rose to its pristine glory and made a distinct mark in the field of Education due to the tireless efforts of a great teacher Late Sri S Udupachar, who was awarded Best Teacher Award by the President of India.
